yup. he's two and a half now and i have not seen him so tired his whole life. we were at the river thurs. until today and had 2 other labs and a boxer to jump off the dock with him. and he stayed up until i went to bed which as about 400am every night.
awesome. yah, i'm looking at getting a vizla one of these days when i settle everything down. i don't have to take care of one now. they seem like great dogs though.

they are very loyal, intelligent, energetic dogs. you have to be prepared to have a co dependent dog that wants to be with you alot.

Cool pictures. I wish I could take my dogs out to the lake but two Great Danes on a boat isn't possible. I am going to try and take them for a few days next time I camp.

does your dog scratch up your boat with it's nails? Does anyone have any ideas about how to avoid that? Those pics are awesome.

I file his nails with a rotary sanding wheel. My wife makes terrycloth covers for the interior.

there was another dog thread on here a while back, and someone had dog booties that were a great idea.

he never messes up my upholstry. i did have a scratch on the bow of my old mc but none on the new boat and he has been out dozens of time. we even had about 7 people and a boxer and mojo saturday. alot of the times mojo will just lay under my feet while i drive when he gets hot which is pretty nice. he just enjoys it as much as i do. he wouldnt get out of the boat when it was time to leave.

This little girl loves to go for boat rides. All i can say is with a two squids mom, dad and all of our kit, we are maxed out with Hannah in our little red 196. But we love having her with us.

what a great looking dog. it's my friends boxer, but ya he likes the water. he isn't as into it as my vizsla or a lab, but he likes boats and swimming no problem and loves to play.

Thats a sweet picture of him on the back deck; looks like his spot. Hannah likes the back seat, and what you cant see from the pic is that she takes up 9/10 of it. So if you choose the back bench seat, then you get the dog as well. Its really funny to watch her herd the kids while they are swimming, the only problem is that German shepherds are not known for there swimming ability, couple that with her being lean and lacking fat to float on and getting water logged after only a few minutes in the water; she sometimes has to be pulled in before she goes under from exhaustion.

the first time mojo(short for mr. mojo risin) jumped off a dock was when i rode by on my wakeskate. occasionally he will jump in to "save" me when i fall. honestly, i plan on redoing the interior when it gets to that point so if there is a small tear in a seat one day i won't mind. my dog is one of my best friends so i might as well take him to my favorite place. he's been going on boats since i first got him as a pup. and vizsla's hair is so short they barely ever shed and dry off in minutes.

I've tried the first ones and they came off my boxer the first time in.. maybe I didn't have them tight enough.. He didn't care for them at all..Been on the boat multiple times and have never had an issue with my seats.. I've made sure his nails have been filed down good though. I really need to get him used to the water.. He is so lean he doesn't swim very well.. I'll probably get him a lifejacket soon.

We feel the same about our dogs and our special places !!! We HATE all the dog hair in the nautique and the possibility of a tear , but thats also why we have the nautique is to enjoy special memorys !!!! If something were to happin ,Oh well !! We cant take it with us !! Ill just order a new seat !! I used to be so uptight about EVERYTHING on the boat , my wife (and time) have tought me , that you cant get these special times back !!! LIVE IT !!!!

Awesome pictures Gasman.
I wish I could bring my dogs on the boat but my two Great Danes only like shallow water. They'd be great ballast too!

Pugs aren't the strongest swimmers, but they enjoy being on the boat.
