View Full Version : dual battery
Does any one have a diagram of how to wire a dual battery set up with a pergo switch? I think I can handle it but would like to see an example before i get in to it. Thanks

How's this? This is the best I can find on my machine right now.

Here's the one from Perko's website.
Thanks a bunch. Now I just have to decide if I will put a capacitor in also
What is everyone using for the battery tray on the 2nd battery? Mine is in the tip of the bow. Thought about just using a small stinger battery in front of it.

NautiqueJeff,
I have a perko switch and just found something weird. On the standard battery there is another positive cable wired into the terminal outside of the 1/0 AWG wire. I believe it goes up to the front swtich. Now, your shows that wire hooked up to the common as well - correct? If so, does the original Nautique rocker swich offer anything, off, on, bilge? Because you always have to have at least one battery on, which then also enables or charges the entire dash - right?
My weird thing is this: I turn my perko off, but if I turn nautique swtich on, and enter my code, dash lights, up, music starts, but it will NOT turn over. If I put perko on Batt 1 (original battery) then everything works. If I put on battery 2 - and completely disconnect batt 1 nothing works. Because that extra little power cable (I think it is about 22awg) charges the fuel pump,etc...
It seems like somehow we should have the bilge wired directly to one battery; even if the perko switch is off then it can still kick in if floods. I just am a little confused of what all gets "charged" by that original nautique racker switch and how to keep things as simple as possible.
One more weird thing - if I disconnect batt 2 completely, my amp will not WORK, even though my amp draws from the common side in the switch. I am not sure about all this, I think I have some sort of backfeed. Or a bad battery - if I have all thre ballast empty pumps on at idle, my voltage drops so low the warning been comes on.... any idea's. Lots of questions and I thank anyone in advance for helping me.
