View Full Version : Looking at the articulated mirror

I have a 2002 SAN and I'm tired of having the mirror on windshield flop down every time I hit a wake.

I have been looking at the Boss articulated mirror that attaches to the flight tower.

Can anybody share their advice on the mirror? I also need to know how to figure out the clamp size for the mirror.

Thanks for the help!

That's the one I have on my boat. I like it. It is totally adjustable, and it will stay how you adjust it if you crank down on the retaining screws. Don't try to install it without a helper though. You WILL scratch your tower. Someone needs to hold it while you connect it to the tower.

I can't remember the size of the tower tubing, but I'm sure someone'll jump in with the measurement. I think I remember Luke posting it on here before.

I have heard that Correct Craft is going to have a articulated mirror bracket for 2005. It will be adjustable and made out of billet aluminum. Might be worth holding off until we see what they are going to offer. It is on the 2005 price list. I hope it has the Nautique logo on it.

Jeff,

Thanks for the quick photo! The mirror looks great. I did not see that on your boat when we met at the reunion. I guess I was in CC overload, So many boats :) so little time :(

Eric -- When does CC start bringing out the '05 stuff? Is this something that will be for next season?

FCT Dia. is 1 and 7/8 inches. I too would like a tower mount mirror from CC.

Here's a better shot of the mirror. Hopefully CC will come out with something just as good.

I am thinking about gettint the mastercraft mirror.

If the Cc mirror looks as good i will probably get thet one though.

FWIW, the MC mirror bracket looks the best, and has the best price off all that I have seen.

Samsonsport is the best I have found, have full view of the rider. Infinite adjustment, three mirrors, clean lines, no rattles: $275

I am interested too. With a 2 and 4 year old in the boat. I probably adjusted the mirror 200 times last weekend. The Samsonsports mirror looks nice, but I think I will wait to see what Correct Craft will be using.

In case anyone is interested. Samsonsports has $25 off mirrors this month. You can save some money if you want one! :D

Correct Craft is still doing some testing or isnt ready to release them to the dealers yet. We have tried. I'm going to look into the MasterCraft bracket as another option for those that have asked.

Here is a picture of the Mastecraft mirror bracket. It retails for somewhere around $205.00 and that does not include the mirror. I'm sure the Correct Craft mirror will retail for more than that when it is released. Air206- Do you have a picture of your boat with this bracket to share with us?

They must have gone up in price, as i swore they retailed around $100 the last time I checked.

Am I the only person on the board who doesn't like the tower-mounted mirrors? Yeah they look cool and I'm sure it solves the mirror dipping down when you hit wakes and such, but I can't stand the mirror wobbling back and forth as the tower sways. Probably less of a problem with the FCT since it's relatively short and pretty stiff, but it's really pronounced with the taller tower on the MC boats, especially with a ton of gear mounted on the tower.

Apparently I'm in the minority on this one!!?? :?:

My mirror doesn't move .... doesn't move during highway trailering either..... I love it. My FCT doesn't flex (no matter how it's loaded) at all; I have noticed that my friends' "Zero-Flex" towers sure flex a lot! The mount may not be for everyone ......... BTW, my mount is a MC mount - no movement on our FCT.

My FCT has Zero flex, (pun).

Yes dont get the tower mounted mirriors, They look stupid. Waste of money, Ha Ha LoL.

I like my, There is things you can do to the mirrior to stop it from flopping over you dont need to buy a $150 mirrior mount to stop it from flopping over, $1 worth of hardwear is all you need

You can beef up the plastic mount and this will fix your problem

I put the BOSS arm on my 206 and it works great. I have seen the 05 Nautique arm and it's built extremly well. My boat was used in a tournament last week cause the promo boat perfect pass went down. Skiers loved it, had a lake record set. Mens 4 I think 1 @41 off.

I'd be willing to be my boat "pink slip" versus yours that your tower DOES flex. Whattya think? ****, I'll toss my truck "slip" in there, too!

Kidding aside, movement on a FCT might be negligible enough that the arm dealio works well. Now the Zero Flexes, I'd swear those were made out of graphite or plastic as much as they seem to sway!!

Hmm - noticably, absolutely not: measurably, probably one can determine flexing.... but the point of discussion was that the tower flexes too much for a tower mounted mirror to not work well. As we both said, some towers sway noticably, maybe even too much for a tower mounted mirror........Mine doesn't - works great (I can't imagine I am the only one - if so, I am glad to be so lucky).

I was surprised how much movement was in the new smaller diameter MC towers - tall and small ones. I haven't been in an MC with the larger diameter ones, so I can't BET the pink slip on that. BTW - congrats on having the pink slip - the boats on this forum are so spendy that many don't have their pink slips yet......!

I agree with your solution, the beefed up hardware will hold up the mirror.

The reason my mirror flops is due to the tightening and loosening of the mirror when I put the cover on the boat.

By putting the mirror on the tower bracket I can keep the mirror tight when I put the cover on the boat.

Just purchased and installed a MasterCraft Tower Mount. It is really nice and very stable. Very easy to install (thinks to all the help from another thread). It's simple design makes it very sweet....

Just my 2 cents worth.

There just doesn't seem to be a good place for my Windshield Mirror.

Does anyone have the scoop on tower mirrors? Are these a CC product that we order through our dealers or do we purchase them elsewhere? If there are models, which ones are the best and why? What is the going price?

Tower Mirriors are stupid, Why would any one mount a mirrior up there,
LOL.

Hey I have the Boss (the orignal invetner of the tower mirrior mount) and I love them. I have seen a few that are nice but to be honest of all the Imposters IMO the Master Craft is Tower mirrior mount is the best no boss mount, that is if you can stand putting Master Craft parts on your Nautique , LOL J/K I think the MC mout is a good price also I dont know what the tower sizing is going to be though

Hey Grant,

Nice screens! Are you feeding an image from a camera? If so, where is it mounted?

All of the wires are very well hidden.

where can you find the MC Mirror brackets online? I need one. Also, does it get in the way when you raise and lower the tower?
