  • Zr6 Oil leak

Ok i Have an oil leak on my zr6 in my 2004 210. From the best that I can tell its comeing from the base were the oil filter goes when you dont have the relocation kit. Has anyone else had problems like this? Does the base just screw on like a filter? The hoses and crimps look clean so Im pretty sure that it is the base. Thanks

    Oil pan

If your boat came equipped with a quick drain oil kit check the fitting for the hose on the oil pan. Happened to me and on a 196 they have to lift the engine to tighten it. I have the remote oil filter so I can't help you there.

So are you saying to change quick drain hose that you have to lift engine?

I have an '04 SV211 with the ZR6 and the quick drain hose and I can get my hand on the fitting, so could tighten it without lifting the engine... that said, I would be doing it "blind", so I couldn't really tell if there was a leak. But I have the remote filter too, and the OP says they don't so maybe all bets are off.

If the issue is around the filter, maybe the seal got messed up. Have you tried just changing out the filter? And check/clean the edge where it seals? Maybe something got nicked the last time the filter was changed?
