Been reading in other posts about the new dual tapered shafts. What are the benefits? Anyway to put one on my 99 SNOB?

Don't think you can put it on your 99 dual to hull changes but I could be wrong.

Can someone describe what dual tapered shafts are and the benefits? Sorry in advance for the ignorance on my part...

The real difference is that it is easier to service that shaft versus the old ones (fitting a new one to a coupler).

Another change for the 04' is that the nut is no longer a castle nut but, a nylon lock nut and it's smaller in size.

Here's a picture of the A.R.E. dual tapered shaft. More information can be found HERE (http://www.elberts.com/system.htm).
