    Hey all,

I need some help in figuring out why my running lights & turn signal and stop lights on the trailer (ramlin) aren't working. it has disk brakes with a hydraulic actuator, 7 pin to 7 pin round connector. Last year everything worked fine, riding home last night from the first short session of skiing this spring I noticed the problem.

Heres the bizarre thing about it, if I jam on the brakes hard, all the running lights & turn signals (not sure about the brake lights) come back to life temporarily, and then after 5 - 10 seconds they fade and go out again. Lightly depressing the brakes does not induce the lights magically start working.

I am getting power to the reverse soleniod as backing up isn't an issue.

Any ideas on what is wrong or how to go about troubleshooting this?

All of the lights and signals on the truck are fine.

    Thanks in advance,

    jmo

Sound like a bad ground ( maybe rust). Make sure that you have a good ground. Try running a jumper wire from the tow vehicle to the trailer.

Thanks - it was a grounding issue...

FYI - I bought a multimeter that made isolating where the break in continuity was a piece of cake - well worth the $50 bucks I spent for a really nice digital one.
